The Team at Apex Animal Hospital is committed to excellent customer service and will work diligently to ensure the comfort and safety of you and your pet at every visit.
Typical appointment:
When you arrive, you will be greeted warmly by one of our caring Team Members, who will check your pet(s) in. There are 2 separate waiting areas, one of which is exclusively for cats, in case there is a wait for a Doctor. A Team Member will escort you and your pet to an exam room and gather pertinent information about your visit. A Veterinarian will perform a complete physical exam on your pet, from nose to tail, constantly communicating with you along the way. This is a perfect time for you to ask questions! We love Clients who are actively engaged in the visit and their family’s veterinary care. Depending on what we see during the exam, diagnostic testing may be performed at this point. Once a diagnosis is achieved, the Doctor will discuss treatment options with you and we will work together to find the best plan of action for you and your pet. If any medication or home treatment is required, our Team will explain administration, dosing, and any safety concerns. Once all of your questions are answered, a Team Member will process your payment, schedule any follow up appointments, and assist you and your family to your car.
Surgery admission:
Upon arrival and check in, one of our technical Team Members will quickly escort you to an exam room, where they will discuss the procedure for the day and answer any questions you may have. There is a consent form to be signed and we will verify the best phone number to reach you that day. Feel free to leave any personal items such as collars, leashes, blankets, toys, etc. and as many hugs and kisses as you can stand. We will be taking exceptional care of your pet for the time they spend with us.
Your pet will start the day with a pre-operative blood screening so that we may determine the best and safest drugs and dosages for anesthesia. To begin the procedure, all Patients will receive an IV catheter for safety and support throughout anesthesia. Once the procedure is completed, and your pet is in recovery, the Doctor will call you to update you on your pet’s condition and to schedule a convenient time for a discharge appointment. At this appointment, we will discuss the procedure, discuss any and all instructions for home care, and provide written directions of the same for your reference. Once all of your questions are answered, a Team Member will process your payment, schedule any follow up appointments, and assist you and your family to your car.
